We’re already big fans of Kayla Itsines’s fitness app Sweat and the muscle-building, fat-blasting, and heart-pumping workouts it features. We love that some workouts are bodyweight-only, while others require minimal equipment (think: just one set of dumbbells). While the focus has primarily been on strength training and cardio, there are other workouts fans have been requesting — and Sweat listened.
Starting today, Sweat now offers two new workouts: yoga and barre. These styles of training are perfect for people looking to do something more low-impact or to supplement other training plans. The best part? All of these workouts are designed to be done at home. “The reality is that many women don’t train using the one fitness style,” Kayla said in a statement. “They want to be able to include other fitness styles, like barre or yoga, alongside their high-intensity and strength workouts.”
The workouts will be led by a crop of new trainers, all with their own expertise and experience. The new barre program, Barre With Britany, will be led by Sweat instructor Britany Williams. The new yoga classes feature vinyasa instructor Phyllicia Bonanno, who will be teaching Yoga With Phyllicia, as well as vinyasa instructor Ania Tippkemper teaching Yoga With Ania. And while these workouts are new, the Body and Mind (BAM) yoga program by Sjana Elise will still be available in the Sweat app.
To kick off these new programs, POPSUGAR is offering an exclusive two-week low-impact workout plan starting on Monday, Nov. 30, featuring barre workouts from Britany and yoga workouts from Phyllicia and Ania. The plan will also include two low-intensity steady-state (LISS) cardio days and one rest day a week.
